A HISTORY OF LTS
Scott Smith followed two generations of his family with his 30+ year career and eventual start-up of his company, named after his father Leonard Thomas Smith, LTS. What began as a family job for Scott became his legacy, taking over Architectural Sales of Colorado in 2000. His connections throughout his career would create partnerships and take his business across the country.
Scott’s glass legacy began in 1920’s Denver, Colo., when his grandfather worked at McMurty Paint & Glass. His father Leonard founded ASC in 1994 with partner Loren Howe-they both worked from their basements-venturing out for sales calls with architects and glazing subcontractors in Colorado, Montana, New Mexico and Wyoming. Their lines of glass product manufacturers consisted of EFCO, Hope’s Windows and Industrial Louvers.
He graduated from the University of Nebraska, where he earned a BA in Clinical Psychology. Scott met his newly assigned roommate–Bruce Keeler, who was studying to be an engineer.
After completion, Scott moved back to Denver to learn his father’s sales business and worked as a sales representative at Kawneer beginning in 1997.
That year would bring more changes to ASC. Scott would take over after his father passed unexpectedly. Todd Reynolds then became ASC’s Kawneer sales rep., and finally Scott started LTS Drafting & Engineering. He brought in Bruce and Paul Tharp, now tenured engineers. The final Division at LTS became LTSE, a certified installation company for NanaWall Systems Inc., which was founded in 2008.
To bolster his company and business acumen, Scott obtained executive business certificates from both Harvard School of Business and the University of Michigan Ross School of Business at different times during his career in the glass and glazing industry.
For the past 30 years, Scott’s industry relationships and project experience have created LTS’ longevity and reputation as experts in drafting & engineering for Division 8 and beyond. All three of these divisions would eventually unify as LTS.

Scott Smith, President
Scott Smith is President of LTS, with a company rooted in generations of glass and glazing expertise. His industry relationships and project experience have contributed to LTS’ longevity and reputation as experts in drafting & engineering for Division 8 and beyond.
His legacy began in 1920’s Denver, where his grandfather worked at McMurty Paint & Glass, and continued through his father, Leonard Thomas Smith, the namesake for LTS. Scott took over the business from his father in 1997, representing EFCO, Hope’s Windows, Industrial Louvers and eventually Kawneer. He expanded the business from architectural sales products by launching two more divisions: LTS Drafting & Engineering in 2002, licensed in 45 states, and LTSE, a NanaWall Systems certified installation team, in 2008. These three divisions are now unified as LTS. Scott holds a BA in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nebraska and an executive business certificate from Harvard Business School and another from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
Scott and his wife Kim enjoy living in Denver, practicing yoga and golf.

He often finds himself educating clients about value engineering, architectural specifications, and structural design.
Bruce earned his BS and MS in structural engineering from the University of Nebraska, and it was there he met LTS President Scott Smith as a college roommate in1988. After college, he worked at HDR as a project structural engineer for 10 years, before moving to LTS. Bruce holds professional engineer licenses in AZ, CO, FL, GA, ID, IA, IN, LA, MD, MI, MN, MS, MT, NE, NV, NM, NY, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, TX, TN, UT, WA, WV, WI, WY.
